Demand for primary care
The NHS is creaking at the seams, faced with rising health costs and the burden of an ageing population with increasingly complex healthcare needs. As pressure on the service continues to intensify, there is a clear need for a analysis radical transformation in the delivery of care to patients, particularly within the primary care setting.
Over 90% of NHS – patient contact within primary care takes place within general practice and demand is evergrowing: GPs now see 40 million more patients per year than they did five years ago. Furthermore, health and social care policies are demanding an increased push towards community healthcare in light of the increasing prevalence of chronic conditions.
