Care Home Open Week returns from Monday 15 June, inviting care homes across the UK to throw open their doors and welcome their local communities for a week of connection, celebration, and shared joy.
This national initiative, led by Championing Social Care, shines a spotlight on the incredible work happening every day within care settings. It’s a chance for neighbours, families, schools, and local organisations to step inside, meet residents and staff, and experience the warmth and creativity that define great social care.
“This year’s newly appointed Chair, Vishal Shah, captures the spirit of the week perfectly:
Care homes are the heart of their communities and Open Week is our invitation for everyone to come in, connect, and celebrate the people who make social care extraordinary.”
Across the country, homes will be hosting a vibrant mix of activities including garden picnics and afternoon teas to live entertainment and craft sessions. And, in true British fashion, many will be enjoying the buzz of a cheeky World Cup football match playing in the background, bringing residents and visitors together in the shared thrill of the game.
Care Home Open Week is more than an event; it’s a reminder of the power of community, the importance of intergenerational connection, and the joy that comes from opening our doors and our hearts.
Connell Consulting is a proud supporter of Care Home Open Week, now celebrating its sixth successful year.
