Fortava Healthcare acquires three Nottingham care homes, supported by Connell Consulting’s commercial due diligence

Fortava Healthcare, the Peterborough-based dementia and complex care provider backed by Downing, has expanded its footprint with the acquisition of three Nottingham care homes previously operated by Medina Group.

The homes, Long Eaton View, Stapleford View, and Wilford View, are modern, purpose-built facilities that increase Fortava’s total operational capacity to 322 beds. They join the two 50-bed Peterborough homes acquired in May last year with support from Downing Private Equity.

Connell Consulting supported the acquisition by conducting a primary research‑led commercial due diligence review of the three homes. The work focused on evaluating the sustainability and scalability of the operating model, with particular attention to commissioner confidence and the long‑term demand environment for specialist dementia and complex care.

Jaimie DeVries, Connell Consulting Managing Director said,

“this type of ground‑up research is increasingly important in complex care markets, where investment decisions rely on a deep understanding of local need, service differentiation, and the resilience of funding pathways. The project underscores the value of rigorous, evidence‑based analysis in supporting high‑quality operators and informed investment.”

Beyond transactional due diligence, Connell Consulting regularly works with operators and investors on confidential strategic conversations around growth planning, market positioning, and potential exit pathways. For social care businesses navigating expansion, consolidation, or long-term value creation, this level of discreet, evidence‑based guidance can be instrumental in shaping the next phase of development.
